Privacy

This memorial does not require an account or ask for your name, email address, or other contact details. It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

You do not need to enter your name or contact details to light a candle.

What is stored

When you light a candle, two things are stored: a random identifier your browser creates for that one request, and the time the candle was lit. That is everything.

The date you last lit a candle is kept in your own browser, on your device. It is not sent anywhere.

What is not stored

No names, messages, photos, email addresses, or accounts. No IP addresses, user-agent strings, locations, device or browser fingerprints, or advertising and analytics cookies. Nothing kept with a candle identifies you or connects one candle to another.

Cloudflare

This memorial is served by Cloudflare. Like any content delivery network, Cloudflare may transiently process basic request information, such as your IP address and browser user-agent, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This memorial does not store that information. Read Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Candles are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a request comes from a person rather than a script, without tracking cookies. Read Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
